Ocean Store At TDEX'26

Making Waves in Bangkok: Reflecting on a Stellar TDEX Show

What an incredible few days it has been! We have officially wrapped up our time at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) for the Thailand Dive Expo (TDEX), and we are absolutely thrilled by the energy, community, and massive response we received.

This year, our booth proudly showcased a powerhouse lineup of industry-leading brands: SEAC, Ocean Dynamics, and HUUB. From high-performance triathlon and wetsuit engineering to rugged, dependable hardware, it was an honour to connect with so many passionate local divers, international travellers, and industry peers who share our love for the water.

A Rich Legacy: The Evolution of Dive Shows

Standing on the bustling floor of TDEX got us thinking about just how far the global diving community has come. Today’s premier expos are highly polished, experiential hubs, but they evolved from humble roots:

The Genesis (1970s)
1970s

As scuba technology transitioned from military use to a mainstream recreational lifestyle, trade organizations recognized a need for industry-wide connection. The landmark DEMA Show (Diving Equipment & Marketing Association) was born in the United States, quickly establishing itself as the world's largest trade-only global dive event.

European & Regional Expansion (1980s–1990s)
1980s - 1990s

The dive boom went global. Major public and trade exhibitions sprouted across Europe and the Americas—such as Beneath the Sea and Our World Underwater—allowing manufacturers to interface directly with passionate recreational communities.

The Birth of TDEX (2004)
2004

Recognizing Southeast Asia as the undisputed beating heart of marine biodiversity, the Thailand Dive Expo (TDEX) was established. It was created to serve as the definitive hub for diving tourism, equipment, and conservation in the ASEAN region.

The Modern Era (Present)
Present

Now celebrating over two decades of success, TDEX has grown into a massive multi-day experience. It brings together world-class equipment innovators, cutting-edge underwater photography showcases, and critical marine conservation initiatives.

The Crowd Favourite: SEAC Permanent Anti-Fog Technology

While our sleek HUUB suits and reliable Ocean Dynamics gear drew constant crowds, the absolute star of the show was undoubtedly the SEAC Pura Anti-Fog Mask.

If you've ever had a dive interrupted by a foggy lens, you know the frustration. The interest at our booth peaked when we demonstrated SEAC’s game-changing design. Instead of relying on temporary chemical coatings or sprays, these masks utilize a factory-applied Double Plasma Treatment.

How it works: The plasma treatment fundamentally alters the tempered glass surface, making it hydrophilic. Instead of moisture gathering into microscopic fog droplets that blur your sight, it spreads into a completely flat, perfectly transparent film of water.

Divers at the show were amazed to learn that you just rinse the mask before diving, gently wipe the lens, and you are guaranteed a crystal-clear, panoramic view for the rest of your session—no spit or anti-fog gel required.

Thank You, Bangkok!

From the veteran divemasters planning their next liveaboard trip to the Similan Islands, to the fresh open-water students picking out their very first setups, thank you to everyone who stopped by, talked gear, and shared their stories with us.

The success of TDEX reminds us why we do what we do. We are already looking forward to seeing you back in the water—and seeing you next year at the show!
